Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, New York reopened with extensive audio-visual upgrades by Electrosonic that offer visitors a renewed focus on the history of moving image production and the future of film and video art. Designed by Josh Weisberg of Scharff Weisberg in New York, the museum now provides even more insight into the production, promotion and exhibition of moving images through its unique collections, interactive exhibitions and versatile theater and screening rooms.

Electrosonic at the Battle of Culloden

Culloden, Scotland

The National Trust for Scotland recently completed its largest ever construction project, a new £9 million visitor centre at the Culloden Battlefield. The centre is based on the latest scholarship and includes an exhibition that follows the progress of the Jacobite Army. The exhibition makes imaginative use of AV techniques to animate the story. Electrosonic was the AV Systems Integrator for the project.

Nokia Flagship Stores

Worldwide

Nokia has opened flagship stores in Moscow, Helsinki, New York, Chicago, Hong Kong and Mexico City. These are exciting places in which to socialize and to handle the latest Nokia products. They make stimulating use of sound, lighting, streamed video and interactive techniques. Electrosonic was responsible for the AV integration, and service support for the completed installations.

The Heineken Experience at the Heineken Brewery

A new Heineken Experience opened at the historic Heineken Brewery in Amsterdam at the beginning of December 2008. Designed and produced by BRC Imagination Arts, the re-designed visitor experience makes extensive use of specially produced high definition video programmes. Electrosonic’s UK office was appointed by BRC, www.brcweb.com, as its principal sub-contractor for audio-visual systems integration.

Robert Burns Birthplace Museum

Alloway, Scotland

The National Trust for Scotland recently completed a major development bringing all the Robert Burns related sites in Alloway, Scotland, together. Principal among these sites is the Burns Cottage, which for many years has represented the nucleus of the museum, and a brand new museum building; together they represent the new Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. Event Communications designed the museum exhibition, and Electrosonic’s Design Consulting team began the project as their audio-visual systems designer. After a tender process, Electrosonic was also appointed as the AV systems integrator, working directly for the National Trust for Scotland.

Kennedy Space Center "Exploration Space"

Exploration Space, the first attraction at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to examine the future of space exploration, combines live theater, interactive exhibits and new media components to engage and inform audiences about the next 20 years in space exploration. Electrosonic provided the AV systems for the exhibit designed by BRC Imagination Arts, Inc. in collaboration with Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The Electrosonic team designed, integrated, programmed and installed the exhibit’s entire AV system, including projection, audio, video and show control.

Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre

Jodrell Bank, home of the famous Lovell radio telescope, opened its new exhibition in April 2011 after upgrading its visitor facilities with the addition of two pavilions: the Planet Pavilion and the Space Pavilion. The pavilions house exhibitions on astronomy and the work of Jodrell Bank. The audio-visual and interactive elements of the exhibits were installed by Electrosonic under subcontract to the Moule Partnership.

BRC Imagination Arts was the creator and producer for the world’s first Multi-Dimensional Interactive Network pavilion.

China State Shipbuilding Pavilion

Its arc structure resembling the keel of a ship, the China State Shipbuilding Pavilion at Expo 2010 Shanghai China showcases the nation’s time-honored history of shipbuilding and is one of the few pavilions that will remain as a museum after the Expo concludes.  Electrosonic provided the extensive audio, video and show-control systems for the pavilion that enable visitors to explore the role of shipping in China’s past, investigate exciting concepts for future floating cities and farms, and simulate navigation.  Electrosonic was challenged to deliver multi-image and edge-blended displays onto unusual surfaces; and furnish immersive interactive experiences for visitors.
