The National Defense University (NDU) located at Ft. The 500-seat Baruch Auditorium is the large set lecture hall on the NDU campus. Its primary purpose is to provide a forum in which guest speakers from the highest levels of government, industry and the military can present their views to National Defense University students in a state of the art facility. Electrosonic installed a sophisticated information presentation display to replace the front screen projection system in the arena. The new display consists of 15 Clarity Lion XGA displays in a 3 x 5 format, with Electrosonic VECTOR™ image processing.

The Electrosonic videowall provided a dramatic improvement over the existing front projection system that was not very bright and required the house lights to be dimmed. In addition, it had a limited number of pixels, expensive replacement projection lamps and cooling fans that produced a distracting ambient noise.

The 25 ft wide by 10 ft high display is very bright and the house lights remain on during presentations. The display has an array of 5120 x 2304 pixels. This resolution allows multiple, high-resolution computer graphic and video images to be presented as sharp, clear images. The projection cubes have inexpensive replacement lamps and a distracting noise is not generated in the auditorium. The VECTOR image controller provides a robust display controller that enables speakers to exhibit multiple video and computer images simultaneously. Visiting presenters can quickly and easily connect and present images from their own laptops. PowerPoint presentations, DVD’s, video conferencing, web images, maps, photos and graphic images are presented on this display. CT- COMMANDER™ control software manages the configuration of the source inputs and positioning of images on the display.
